Yakutat Tern Festival

The 14th Annual Yakutat Tern Festival is a celebration of the natural and cultural resources of Yakutat, Alaska. The Aleutian tern breeds in wide-ranging coastal colonies only in Alaska and eastern Siberia. Yakutat hosts one of the largest and southernmost nesting colonies of Aleutian Terns (an estimated 1/3 of the population in Alaska), as well as Arctic Terns, and up to 200 other bird species that nest in or migrate through the area.

The festival is family friendly and offers activities for birders as well as non-birders, including field trips, seminars, kid’s activities, evening banquets, bird-banding demonstration, and other programs. The keynote speaker to be announced.

Registration is TBD and will open sometime late fall. Alaska Airlines offers a 5% discount to festival events, please see our website for more details.
