25th Ridgefield NWR BirdFest & Bluegrass Festival
October 5, 2024 All day
BirdFest and Bluegrass is the main event every year that the Friends & the City of Ridgefield put on to bring awareness to Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge and all that is has to offer. We celebrate the Sandhill Crane returning to the Refuge, a huge stately bird that is endangered in Washington State, and we celebrate everything the Refuge is and what it brings to the community. With endangered species, hundreds of migratory species, an auto tour route, photo blind, walking trails, habitat restoration programs, birding and family activities at the Refuge, vendors, kids crafts, Bluegrass performances, a Pickers Festival, and so much more – there is a lot to celebrate, and a lot to learn.
We are uniquely fortunate to have the Refuge as a resource right in our own backyard, and by learning not only how to appreciate the beauty, but the necessity of it, you come one step closer to being able to support it.
Come ready to celebrate BirdFest & Bluegrass, Saturday, October 5, wearing your BirdFest & Bluegrass Commemorative button! Buttons will be available at the Vancouver, WA @Backyard Bird Shop, and Seasons Coffee Tea & Remedies, inside the Old Liberty Theater, in the City of Ridgefield! Just $5, the purchase of these buttons helps support this event and helps us grow and get better every year. They are also collector’s items with a limited number. In some years are very hard to find!
Activities will take place on the refuge at 28909 NW Main Avenue (Carty Unit), 1071 S. Hillhurst (River S Auto Tour), and downtown Ridgefield at various locations. Visit our website for details.
