Great Midwest Crane Festival

November 8, 2024 November 9, 2024

The Great Midwest Crane—Community and Conservation Fest celebrates the thousands of Sandhill Cranes that gather near the Wisconsin River before flying south for the winter. Held in Baraboo, Wisconsin, from November 8 to 9, 2024. Witness the marvel of Wisconsin’s largest crane congregation and participate in guided crane-viewing tours, photography and crane behavior workshops, conservation-related lectures, and extraordinary events. Explore the beautiful landscapes and rich histories connecting the festival hosts, the Aldo Leopold Foundation and the International Crane Foundation.

Events will take place at both the Aldo Leopold Foundation (E13701 Levee Rd, Baraboo, WI 53913) and International Crane Foundation (E11376 Shady Lane Rd. Baraboo, WI 53913) from 8 am to 5 pm. Note that only the International Crane Foundation is listed as a location, but events will also take place at the Aldo Leopold Foundation.
